Former vice president, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, has said that only
the All Progressives Congress (APC) can give succour to the common man
in the country.
Atiku stated this in a chat with journalists in Lagos on Saturday at
the sixth Bola Tinubu Colloquium with the theme: “Summit of the common
man.” The colloquium is an annual event to mark the birthday of the
national leader of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu.
The former vice president said that the theme of this year’s
colloquium, which featured presentations of the challenges of everyday
living by ordinary Nigerians, was in line with the manifesto of the
opposition regarding downtrodden Nigerians.
He stated that, “it is part of the APC political ideology that
emphasises on the common man,” that the party’s strategy to improve the
lot of the country would be made clearer when the campaigns start.
Present at the colloquium were: APC interim Chairman, Chief Bisi
Akande; a former military Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari
(retd); Chief Segun Osoba, Governors Ibikunle Amosun, Rauf Aregbesola,
Kayode Fayemi and Chibuike Amaechi of Ogun, Osun, Ekiti and Rivers
states respectively, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State paid
glowing tributes to the celebrant.
