The
open relationship between George Noah, Managing Director of the Lagos
State Advertising and Signage Agency, LASAA, and Temitayo Etomi, his
Special Adviser, Operations, has triggered discord and currently
threatening crisis in the Agency.
The affair, which was first
publicized by news site, The Elites, has been confirmed to DailyPost by
an impeccable source within the Lagos government-owned company.
Earlier,
reports quoted inside sources as saying that by virtue of intense
romance with the MD, Temitayo, a mother of one, is exerting powers
beyond her position on the agency, with members of staff and senior
officials of LASAA becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the ongoing
events .
DailyPost gathered that Mr. George had practically handed
over the running of the agency to his lover, who is widely accused of
impunity.
"Temitayo's words have become law in an agency she
joined barely two years ago. Her hold on George has emboldened her to
talk down on people, take unilateral decisions and circumvent all
money-making avenues," reports The Elites.
Continuing, he said,
"Last December, Temitayo was reported to have made tens of millions of
naira during the Lagos Countdown, an initiative of LASAA, because she
was in charge of the event. She ran the show from start to finish. Many
did not begrudge her on this because the consensus was that it was a
successful show.
"Where they begrudge her most is in the
fact that some of the people in the agency do not even have any
educational qualification, they came through the back doors. These
people were those she put on the Lagos Countdown brief. And they all
made a kill from it."
Another source told the paper that
"Temitayo's relationship with the MD doesn't end up becoming her major
undoing in life, the shenanigans of her clique in LASAA surely would.
One of her 'boys', Wale, is currently in prison for a fraud in the IT
department.
"The messy details of Temitayo's involvement in the
deal that sent the young man to prison are common knowledge to staff in
the agency. As it is, Temitayo's cup, sources say, is becoming full and
if nothing is done about it, LASAA might implode."
Checks by
DailyPost at the weekend confirmed that Governor Babatunde Fashola,
embarrassed by the story, ordered an investigation into the escapade
during the week.
But the corporate affairs department has yet to confirm or refute the damning allegations.
On Friday, calls to the mobile line of Temitope Akande, Public Relations Officer of the agency, were unanswered.
In the meantime, the agency has ordered all its staff not to speak to the relatives, friends or the media on the matter.
Our
reporter was informed that the management called a meeting on Monday,
January 10, where stern warnings were issued against comments to
outsiders.
