A
35-year-old man, who allegedly ran away with N145,600 he owed for
services enjoyed at a Hotel, in Lagos, on Thursday, appeared before a
Somolu Magistrates' Court.
Uche Abuchi, who resides at No. 17, Okufuye St., Ajah, pleaded innocence of the offence.
The Prosecutor, ASP Akinlabi Adegoke, said that the accused committed the offence on January 13 at Sylva Link hotel, located at Bush St., Anthony Village.
According to him, Abuchi lodged at the hotel with his companion on Jan.7.
"Abuchi and his unidentified companion had lodged at Sylva Link hotel on Jan. 7.
"They obtain food and other services from the hotel that amounted to N145,000,
"He however, on Jan.13 abandoned his companion, absconded and failed to pay N145,000 he owed," Adegoke said.
He said the offence, contravened Section 12 and 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.
The Magistrate, Bola Osunsanmi, granted N 100,000 bail to the accused with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till March 12 for mention.
