Nigerian Man Stabbed To Death In Stockwell, London

Nigerian man, Babafemi Junaid was found with stab wounds in a car which had collided with a bus around 6pm on Friday February 7th.

Detectives believe Mr Junaid was stabbed around 50 yards from the crash site where he was found during Friday's rush hour

A driver found stabbed after he crashed into a London bus during rush hour has been named as 22-year-old Femi Junaid.

Police said Mr Junaid, from Peckham in south London, died in hospital last night following the crash near Stockwell underground station shortly before 5.45pm.

Detectives found Mr Junaid inside his car suffering from stab wounds.

The Met's homicide and major crime command is investigating and says Mr Junaid's death could be linked to an earlier report of disorder on a bus nearby.

A Met spokesman said: "Detectives believe Femi was stabbed in Clapham Road, some 50 yards from the scene of the collision, before getting into his car and colliding with the bus.

"We are not aware of any other people injured and we do not believe anyone else was in the car with Femi at the time of the collision."

A post-mortem examination has yet to be held and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the incident room on 020 8721 4155 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
