8 year old Boy finds and returns over $1K found while walking his dog

An 8 year old boy Max Parenti, while taking a simple walk with his dog in a park found a bag containing $1,450. Max said "I just found a bag of money, I thought it was just gonna be paper." It turned out to be $1,450 in cash, lost last month by a local shop owner, Cheri Smith, on the walk to her car.
Parenti gave the money to the police, and a thankful Smith sent him a card and $100 as a reward.
"I grew up in this town and raised my kids here, and it really is the place it is because of people like Max’s parents, who used the opportunity to teach him," Smith told Yahoo Shine.

When Parenti asked his dad if they were going to keep the money, he told him, "Keeping it is no different from taking it.
